^ This.. spot on.

Yeah, nah I’ve been watching F1 for over 20 years. I do remember some instances like you have described, although I don’t see how running out of fuel could be a factor these days.
A safety car of any kind is what […]Coultsy commented on the post, Hamilton admits Ferrari had better strategy despite win 3 years, 4 months ago
Isn’t it time that there was some discussion about the way that a safety car can unfairly change the course of a race?
A safety car is meant to neutralize the race – put it into stasis.
Instead by sheer luck of […]Coultsy commented on the post, "It would be really boring": More drivers rubbish plan for qualifying races 3 years, 4 months ago
Not that I think there is that much that is broken about F1 qualifying but – one thing that the Supercar series does really well in Australia is the Top 10 shootout.
Basically there is the normal weeding out […]Coultsy commented on the post, Verstappen denies Leclerc maiden victory with controversial pass 3 years, 7 months ago
@wsrgo Hey I checked the pit stops and you’re right. Leclerc reacted to Bottas pitting. I had thought it was the other way around. So… yep, tyres had little to do with it. He would likely have pitted when he did […]

Yes! If he was on mediums like all the other front runners Leclerc would have won this race.
He could have gone loger in the first stint and not been a sitting duck at the end.
Putting him on softs was a move […]Coultsy commented on the post, Verstappen denies Leclerc maiden victory with controversial pass 3 years, 7 months ago
Yeah – I have turned around with Max. Wasn’t a fan in past years but wow, he is surely the in form driver in the paddock. Getting the absolute most out of the Redbull every race.
Must be hard being Gasly..Coultsy commented on the post, Paul Ricard would be "a lot better" without Mistral chicane – Bottas 3 years, 7 months ago
@ming-mong yep I understand it’s all a bit fake but if it wasn’t available many races would be all but un-watchable with these cars and as you say – these tyres.
I do like the idea of some sort of timed DRS […]Coultsy commented on the post, Paul Ricard would be "a lot better" without Mistral chicane – Bottas 3 years, 7 months ago
Can someone explain to me why everyone hates DRS? I understand it gives the follower a significant advantage, but man, if they didn’t have DRS with these cars there would be very few passes.
Plus in my view it is […]Coultsy commented on the post, Bottas resists Hamilton to avenge lost Baku win 3 years, 9 months ago
@alianora-la-canta
Medium/Medium would have probably gained enough time to give a “free” pit stop for a short stint on Softs..
Yes! It feels like they are playing from a strategy guide that was written 20 years ago..Coultsy commented on the post, Bottas resists Hamilton to avenge lost Baku win 3 years, 9 months ago
Yep fair point- the softs effective operating window was tiny but I still think he showed enough that a Med/Med/Soft approach would have worked and I know they run these simulations on the fly and would have known […]

Now – I’m not a Ferrari or Leclerc fan (Oh Ricciardo, may your F1 dreams rest in peace), but that race really depressed me.
Leclerc was clearly the fastest driver out there in the first stint and after 11 laps, […]
