DC commented on the post, Bottas: Team orders "the worst thing to hear" 5 years, 9 months ago
I hesitate to call him ‘spineless,’ but yeah, I was kind of disappointed how quickly he obeyed. I rather doubt Lewis, Seb or Max would have so meekly complied in a similar situation. There is a selfish killer […]
DC commented on the post, Ferrari should discuss Raikkonen form – Marchionne 5 years, 10 months ago
My crazy theory is that they will keep Räikkönen for the season and sign Rosberg for 2018. Nico will miss the F1 circus but not Hamilton.

Toto was visibly angry post-Abu Dhabi
I didn’t catch that at all. I thought he looked ecstatic.

Don’t be too hard on Briatore. Remember, his job is to take care of his drivers, not give information to the public.

Is this accurate? Alonso finished sixth but the table says he has zero points.

I don’t understand Ben Hunt’s tweet. What’s wrong with that photo?

If they want to stop track abuse they should stop replacing gravel traps with giant runoff areas.
DC commented on the post, Equalisation 'probably not right' for F1 – Horner 7 years, 10 months ago
From what I understand about the contract, they only get their prize money from last year if they participate this year. That’s why they are participating this year. So yes, it is okay for him to […]
DC commented on the post, Equalisation 'probably not right' for F1 – Horner 7 years, 10 months ago
It looks like Manor showed up in Australia just to be a “participant” and be eligible for the prize money. Bernie was more than accommodating, even paying for their freight, but got swindled. I strongly suspect […]
DC commented on the post, No number one in F1 for first time in over 20 years 8 years, 1 month ago
Yes, I think identifying with a number of merchandising is a big part of this. In NASCAR drivers are inextricably linked with their numbers and it is a huge draw for the fans.

DC commented on the post, Merhi 'has contract' to race for Caterham 8 years, 2 months ago
I read somewhere that the pit crew will be “contractors”, not “employees”. But I have no idea who these people will be. Possibly some former Caterham employees will be given a contract for this one race.
DC commented on the post, No three-car teams before end of 2014 – FIA 8 years, 3 months ago
I don’t know about cheapest, unless they can just buy the entry. The physical assets seem to have tens of millions of liabilities against them with the assets as collateral. They would have to spend an enormous […]

I’ve heard 20 cars, but I’ve also heard 22 cars. Do you happen to have a source on how many cars Bernie has to provide?

But with one less car on the grid that makes it easier for Caterham and Sauber.
DC commented on the post, Vettel to leave Red Bull, Kvyat to take his place 8 years, 4 months ago
I think Alonso was the source of this. If he had wanted to stay at Ferrari, they never would have went after Vettel.
DC commented on the post, Mercedes don't want title decided by reliability 8 years, 4 months ago
Someone (Buxton?) asked and they said that it was friendly rivalry between team mates. The pit crew compete against each other by some measure or something.
DC commented on the post, 2014 Italian Grand Prix Saturday in Tweets 8 years, 5 months ago
Alonso has a point about Räikkönen. This has gone on long enough and Kimi is showing no signs of improvement that I can see. Ferrari should bite the bullet, pay off Räikkönen, and call up Bianchi.
DC commented on the post, Mercedes should back one driver – Briatore 8 years, 5 months ago
He knows nothing about F1.
Well, that’s not true. Yes, he is a lying cheat, but the guy knows F1. He managed successful drivers and was team principal for winning teams.
DC commented on the post, Greece makes plans for grand prix near Athens 8 years, 5 months ago
Supposedly it is private money. I can’t remember the last time a new race wasn’t supported by taxpayers, but as far as I understand in Greece it is supposed to be all private.
