Kyle commented on the post, Mercedes haven't confirmed Hamilton will obey jewellery rules at Miami GP – FIA 1 week, 2 days ago
Car 44 is on the track now, so either the Technical Delegate has “confirmed to the Competitor that he is
satisfied it has been fully and correctly completed”, or Mercedes are technically in breach of this regulation.Kyle posted a new activity comment 1 month, 2 weeks ago

That isn’t what I said. What I am saying is that you cannot take last season as absolute proof that Max > Sergio by 0.8 seconds, forever and always. We can only ever view the drivers through the lens of their given equipment, under this current lens it looks like Max > Sergio by maybe 0.2s. Close enough for the old adage “every dog has its…[Read more]Kyle commented on the post, 2022 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix driver ratings 1 month, 2 weeks ago

You are asking the wrong question. What you need to ask is: how could Sergio, who this year in this car is clearly a much closer match for Max, have been so destroyed last year.In so doing you will […]
Kyle commented on the post, Mazepin: Haas "ignored" my pleas to continue racing 2 months, 1 week ago
Unfortunately Gene and Gunther cannot pay for the team with pleas instead of dollars. From the perspective of both brand reputation and sanctions compliance, it’s no longer viable to take those from Uralkali/daddy.

Edit: 1976 is also up there. But losing one of the title contenders from the race (as understandable as it was) does detract a little.

2012 for me. 1986, 2008 and 2021 had more dramatic conclusions, but didn’t have quite the same drama from start to finish.

Agreed, I went the same way. Honourable mentions to each of the podium finishers, and to Checo for his superb execution of the rear-gunner role, but Yuki was the standout for me.

Speaking as a neutral, here are my thoughts on that finale:
– Max obviously caught a huge break with the late safety car. Without that Lewis had it in the bag, this title has been decided (today) by […]Kyle commented on the post, F1 releases missing video footage from Verstappen's car of Hamilton incident 6 months ago
I’m now more inclined to believe that Max did genuinely attempt to make the corner, albeit only after ensuring 100% the apex block was successful and that Lewis would be ran wide. So from an intent perspective he […]
Kyle commented on the post, Drivers warned not to cut turn six in updated track limits guidance 6 months, 3 weeks ago
The white lines should be enforced for the purposes of cutting as standard.
I think it would be cleaner if the same rules applied at exits too, but to not apply the track definition strictly on the apex of […]

Your final line hits the nail on the head, but for the other side of the argument. If Norris had pitted, Lewis would probably stayed out and have been 7th. Ergo, his call wasn’t talent or stardom but simply a hand […]

True “on the road” but official results show Hamilton was excluded from qualifying. (As distinct from qualifying first before a grid penalty moved him back.)

“Okay Lando just to confirm, we have to be able to stay on-track here. Are you happy to stay out on this tyre?”
This message to Lando during the final driveable slick lap confirms that this was not a gamble […]
Kyle commented on the post, Who should Alfa Romeo hire to partner Bottas in 2022? 7 months, 4 weeks ago
It ought to be Zhou or Piastri. I selected Zhou of the two but to be frank this is no more than a personal preference.

Not sure if mistake or sarcasm?
Otherwise an enjoyable read!
Kyle commented on the post, 2021 Italian Grand Prix grid and Sprint Qualifying result 8 months ago
The time deltas you’ve used on the grid are incorrect… they map to the finishing positions of the Sprint, but overlook the fact that Bottas has been booted to the back. Gasly is listed as finishing one second […]
Kyle commented on the post, Verstappen at risk of penalty for overtaking under red flags 8 months, 1 week ago
Per that video. He passes a marker board showing no signal at around 0:10. The next marker board becomes visible over the crest of the circuit at around 0:13 and looks to already be showing red. At this point it […]

The answer certainly is a surprise
It’s “no-one”, as per the official race classification below
And no, the answer is not Mazepin, you can’t set the fastest lap on lap 2 of a 1 lap race.
(Sorry I […]

Kyle commented on the post, Change rules to give points for qualifying if race can't happen – Seidl 8 months, 2 weeks ago
In general I’m very much against awarding points for qualifying. The reward of being high up the grid for the race, when the points should be awarded, is more than sufficient.
But, to avoid what we saw on […]
