So Aitken gets a ton of credit for being +0.1 behind Latifi, and Russell is a failure for being +0.02 behind Bottas? Not sure you’ve got an even playing field there.

@red-andy Thanks!
Lundgaard is only 8 points off him in 6th, so there’s certainly a chance now that there could be an unexpected AlphaTauri seat open…

Not entirely clued into the situation on this – any risk of Tsunoda missing out on his superlicense if he finishes 5th (or lower) in the championship standings?
Kyle commented on the post, Masi was "more than comfortable" with timing of decision to start Q2 1 year, 7 months ago
Not to defend his original call, because I don’t think it should have taken this failure of process to realise it, but he has literally said that with the benefit of hindsight he would do it differently.
Kyle commented on the post, Norris handed five-place grid penalty for yellow flag infringement 1 year, 7 months ago
There’s a bit of an issue here. The expectation is that a driver will abort their lap when faced with double yellows, but what is a driver with no lap time on the board to do if he wishes to remain on track for a […]

And 2002. I mean, in that year the “or retiring” part is redundant, but still.
Kyle commented on the post, Vettel has gone a full year without a podium finish 1 year, 7 months ago
I suppose this interpretation is plausible, but I wonder if the wording could have been clearer – I would suggest it had only been a year at whatever point in 2008, a year after (either) debut.
Kyle commented on the post, Vettel has gone a full year without a podium finish 1 year, 7 months ago
“Not since Vettel became a regular driver at the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2007 has he gone a full year without reaching the rostrum.”
Slightly confused by this line, as Vettel made his Toro Rosso (e.g. […]

In order to keep the championship alive leaving Turkey, BOT must outscore HAM by 8 points in the next race.
Therefore, HAM will be world champion if:
a) he beats BOT, or
b) BOT fails to finish in the top […]Kyle commented on the post, Brief spell in lead gave McLaren "nice pictures and motivation" 1 year, 8 months ago
The Ferrari was competitive on the softer tyre that day, but hopeless once the harder compound went on.
Kyle commented on the post, Schumacher's 'Rascassegate' controversy was inspired by Brawn, Massa reveals 1 year, 9 months ago
@jb784 The crime was not specifically crashing, but rather fixing the outcome of the event by pre-meditating, then deliberately contriving an on-track incident.
Sure, Crashgate’s more violent specifics […]

The admission of forethought now places this incident not too far away from Crashgate.

Kyle commented on the post, F1's new delta time rule "made things worse than before" – Ocon 1 year, 9 months ago
Yes, but that was only a problem because of the maximum delta, which as Esteban said didn’t really work. With a bit of breathing room built into the pit closure limit, you can ensure that even if they all leave at […]

How about an early pit lane closure? If you can’t leave the pit lane in the final 2m30s (adjust as necessary for circuit) then that leaves plenty of time for the drivers to sort out some space amongst themselves.

I would love to see you try to argue that in a court of law.

I don’t disagree that you have a very valid point regarding what they ought to do now, if they cannot continue to use what they have. But Renault and McLaren would say that this is not their problem, it is Racing […]
