On comments regarding the correlation between Vettel’s form and a lack of blown diffuser … heard the same said at Silverstone this weekend, which was a fantastic weekend, so much more fan friendly than the Grand Prix there.

Webber will remain a Red Bull athlete but not part of a driver group or IRBR, just like Mitch Evans. That continued sponsorship is due to his great relationship with Dietrich Mateschitz.

We may never know for certain but there was plenty of discussion at the time that Webber had gone into fuel saving mode at the time which takes the edge of the Vettel overtake in Malaysia for me. Although it shows […]

Vergne’s bad luck eclipses di Resta’s as the former has been the innocent victim of his DNFs not to mention the two times other cars have driven into him in the pits.
I hope he gets to murder that black cat as it […]katederby commented on the post, Vote for your 2013 Korean GP driver of the weekend 9 years, 5 months ago
Plenty of ‘fan’ voting going on. Raikkonen, really? Pranged his car in practice, qualified 6 places behind his team mate and had a lot of good fortune to in as high as 3rd after the final SC. Voted Hulkenberg.

I don’t think Webber has ever been overly critical of Vettel, making it clear that although they’re not friends he appreciates his talent. And often mentions Seb’s great drives.
I just wonder if we’ll ever hear […]katederby commented on the post, Who should Lotus hire to replace Raikkonen? 9 years, 6 months ago
I voted for Vergne; he’s got the speed, the race craft, the talent and has shown great maturity in his short F1 career so far, (he is a year young than Ricciardo) in light of some terrible bad luck. A exciting […]

Impressive work, must have taken some doing. Just a few other things from 2011;
Spain Webber KERS failure
Canada Webber Intermittent KERS Steering Wheel replaced during race.
Japan Webber Team Orders to back off.
Abu Dhabi Webber lost lap time due to debris from Vettel’s tyre damage stuck in car. Long pit stop 9sec+.katederby replied to the forum topic Vettel, Webber and reliability at Red Bull in the group

Except Webber was undoubtedly hampered by a broken leg and shoulder… could have been a bit different otherwise.

@tmf42 Yes, when I read it back I realised it sounded messy!

But we’re talking about 2013, that’s all. I never said it “it happens only on Webber’s side”!
And as I already said, I don’t buy into the conspiracy theories. The fact that Vettel has had problems confirms my […]katederby commented on the post, Who's winning the battle of the team mates halfway through 2013? 9 years, 7 months ago
Even though I point out Webber’s bad luck/misfortunes it doesn’t mean I don’t think he and Vettel have the same car. It’s just conicidence that almost all (bar Silverstone) have been on one side of the garage. I’m […]

Good to see the fact Vergne is ahead of his team mate despite having worse reliability/bad luck, has been noted.
Webber too has had some ridiculous bad luck; Australia, Canada, Britain, Germany, Hungary.

Sounded more like Red Bull said… I mean allegedly said, they weren’t talking about Sainz Jr… although why wouldn’t they?

Mark has multiple instances of “Kini” on his shirt – coincidence I hope so (for Ricciardo’s sake)!
Why’s that?
Good fun segment, enjoyed that banter.
And the “new tarmac”? It just sounded like Webber’s […]katederby commented on the post, Red Bull to run Ricciardo at Young Drivers' Test 9 years, 8 months ago
That would suggest you don’t think Vergne is fast, where as his performances in F1, WSR and F3 would suggest otherwise.

I suggested after the IT that as the Young Drivers’ Test was now being used to substitute the running that Mercedes had in Barcelona that Ferrari should run Alonso and RBR should run Webber etc … nice to see […]
