According to the timetable I’ve just got (dated 14/7) the days are staying the same. No F2 and GP3 on Thursday.

Looks like they’re likely to pull the same stunt as Silverstone and move F2 and GP3 practice to Thursday.

They stopped the fixed price taxis a couple of years back, alas. They now go on the meter but are generally still competitive. Reckon on around 10000 HUF per journey.

I’m a big fan of Tanti but it’s a little outside of the centre.

In the city? Entirely depends on your budget and cuisine you want. I tend to me drinking 50p pints in the cheaper places and eating cheap Thai noodles but I can give a bit more advice if you can tell me more.

Me too. Staying at the IBIS built into the station so should be ok. First time at Hockenheim (double header with Budapest). Really looking forward to it.

They are just the top row of the stand. I would choose the tickets at Turn 1 unless you need the shade.

1- The free shuttle bus service from Arpad Had : is it on all 3 days or just on the last day ( race day ) ?
Every day (not Thursday). It’s ridiculously busy!2- Is the Euro accepted everywhere in the city or do I need to convert to the local currency ?
No Euros anywhere as far as I know. You need to change to HUF.3- Is the VIP stand ticket…[Read more]

Hungary is a fantastic country and very cheap to boot. Current weather is very hot so hopefully that sticks around!

I always book mine through gpticketshop and they are fantastic. Have managed to sort me out with specific seats every year. Gone for the 3 corner Bronze for a change this year.
You should have no problem picking up your tickets. The booths are literally outside the main gate that you would need to walk past anyway as you go in.
4 weeks to go!

The 3 taxi companies are:
6×6 Taxi
Taxi 2000
City TaxiIt’s important to only use these as they are the only ones able to use the access road. The rest will end up in traffic. The cost is around 9000ft. It did used to be a fixed price but now goes on the meter.

Hi Steve,
I’ve been to the Hungaroring for the past 4 years so can offer a bit of advice. The terrain is very rugged around the outside of the track and would likely to be difficult to walk on. The main entrance is near the first corner and so therefore you can access Gold 4, Gold 3, Super Gold, Gold 1, Gold 2, Silver 2, Silver 1 and Red bull…[Read more]

I ended up going out of the circuit on Sunday to consider my options. Very nearly spent €30 on a Ferrari fleece blanket it was that cold!

Cash only for food stands. They take euros or forints. The merchandise stands will take cards.

There are entrance gates at the last corner and near the first corner. They open them at the end of the race but there is a large queue and a bit of a bottleneck so you’ll have to get there in the last few laps to get near the podium.

Yeah we’re there from Wednesday until Thursday the following week. 6×6 taxis have always been good for us. There used to be a fixed price but now it’s on the meter. Only 6×6, Taxi 2000 and City Taxi are able to use the VIP road so make sure it’s one of them. On the way back there is a rank outside the main entrance. The queue is fairly horrendous…[Read more]

Yeah they are from Bronze 1. On Friday you can wander about and go wherever within the stand. There is a sweet spot low down on the left hand side where you have a clear view with no fences etc. The only ticket check is at the entrance to Bronze 1 & 2 as well so you can wander all the way down to turn 5. There are a few other places for decent…[Read more]

If you click on the pictures it tells you. I shoot with Fuji-X cameras. Most of the side on ones are at about 100mm on a 50-230mm lens. It’s the only F1 race where to do those type of shots I haven’t be constantly at the far end of the telephoto!
