I seem to be in the minority here but I think all finishers should be awarded points. This would make the mid-to-tail of the field championship battles much more interesting.
All time points stats never should […]
For what it’s worth, that’s not actually how points work in V8 Supercars.
Every weekend is worth 300 points. So, a weekend with 1 race (Bathurst, Sandown) will be worth 300 points for the race. If the weekend […]
Disagree – oval racing is what makes Indycar. Indy 500 anybody? Yes it’s dangerous but getting rid of it isn’t the solution. Improving the safety of the catch fencing and other parts of the track and/or car is the […]

I quite like this version of the Miami track, I think it would be hard to beat because it hits basically all the points of the brief. I am assuming it will run anti-clockwise because that is what would make sense, […]

In principle I agree with the idea of adding variety, but I don’t think adding an oval in F1 makes sense. Teams would have to develop completely different aero packages for it because they would need to for the […]
VMaxMuffin commented on the post, McLaren would "love to race with Honda again" – in IndyCar 2 years, 11 months ago
The reality is most racing series are spec formula these days, and in America the only top-level series that isn’t spec based is the IMSA Sportscar series – which McLaren could enter as a factory team but they’d […]

It would be interseting to see if the new Brabham hypercar project would be considered too, it isn’t road going but I don’t really see any reason it shouldn’t be allowed (I think most of the reason it isn’t road […]
Well I for one gave it a 10, and though I know I rate Monaco higher than others usually I am a little surprised by the extreme variations present in these comments.
I gave it 10 because it’s everything I want […]
I hope they don’t start F1 races later, it would probably kill a lot of live interest in Australia (where the European races currently start at 10pm in the Eastern states (including Sydney and Melbourne), 9:30pm […]
VMaxMuffin replied to the topic Why there's no proper racing championship during (N-hemisphere) winter time? in the forum Off-topic 3 years, 3 months ago
I think the real answer is that motorsport is very much based in ‘Western’ countries where December is a holiday period, and so it’s a good time for people to have time off work and fans are likely occupied with other things. Also, in Europe and much of the US conditions are too cold for circuit racing, whereas in Southern hemisphere countries…[Read more]
I doubt Koolen’s case will get far if he does take legal action, as there is apparently no evidence from what I’ve heard. No video from either vehicle (no video on the quad obviously, and from what I’ve seen of the coverage I believe the only video from Sainz’s car is internal so you couldn’t see anything). Personally I think Sainz’s penalty is a…[Read more]
Milwaukee was one of my favourite races when it was on the calendar, I’d love to see it back. And such a historic race venue should be preserved… unfortunately we (as motorsport fans) are a minority and our voices are rarely heard.
@stefmeister agreed, overtaking is hard but it’s still not impossible. I wouldn’t mind a bit of a layout change to make it a bit easier, but changing that section at the back of the lake, in particular turns 11 […]
It’s an interesting choice given the legal minimum is also 18 in Australia, as well as many other countries. Maybe the Japanese have a stricter view on this? For example, in Australia it is no issue to be consuming alcohol on private property under 18 years old, as long as permission of a parent/guardian is given. Maybe a similar exemption doesn’t…[Read more]
VMaxMuffin commented on the post, Cutting aerodynamics is "naive" and won't improve F1 – Brawn 3 years, 11 months ago
@just-an-fan except for ground effect, of course, which is a big deal on the front wing (as well as the undertray, of course).
If we assume that Massa has got neither better nor worse, then it’s interesting to look at where the two Williams would have been this season with last year’s line-up.
This is the key assumption here. We can never know for sure, but supposedly Felipe is much more suited to this year’s cars than those of more recent years. The cars, and in par…[Read more]
