    1. Any news on weather Masse will get some kind of reprimand or grid penaly, or is it to early to know.

      1. he should…. we’ll have to wait and see

      2. I don’t think he will, But if he does it wouldn’t be unfair.

        1. huh..? why is ruining someones timed lap ok?

          and I hate Mclaren!!!!

          1. sorry

I didn’t notice the ‘t in “wouldn’t” and lost the plot..
I though it was would be unfair…
            Shame on me LOL

      3. I think it would be really unfair to penalise Massa. He is at the final corner trying to get some space between himself and the car ahead, that’s all he is worried about.

It not Massa’s problem if Button just happened to find traffic at the wrong time. For Button, it’s just tough luck.

        1. i’m afraid that’s not how it works. you must respect other drivers who are on hot laps.

          1. yes sato113!

it doesnt matter if you are about to start your flying lap, or you are on the third corner. it doesnt matter if it is intentional or not, blocking earns you a penalty, its unfair for button if nothing happens, forget worrying about if it would be fair on massa, because its not him who was hampered by the action.

    2. For the first time in Trulli’s f1 career, he lost out to his team mate in qualy in Monaco. Well done Heikki!

    3. i think all the drivers on the right hand side of the grid have a slight advantage as the track curves that way. (meaning a shorter run to first corner. On the clean side too of course)

    4. A Renault in a sandwich of two Red Bulls. China 09 anyone?

      1. true but that was purely renault showing off with low fuel. probably to promote the brand in the chinese market.

        1. That’s crazy! Every car in the top 10 is fuelled for the whole race!

Anyway, apparently Renault set up the car for the race and sacrificed some qualifying pace. Why would they do that in Monaco where quali is so important? Will it pay off though tomorrow?

          1. that’s not crazy as i was talking about china 09. (last year you could fuel the car very light and grab a ‘fake’ pole)

Button must out-accelerate Schumacher at the start if he wants to avoid losing precious time finding a way past Schumacher for the first few laps. I think Button was still smarting from Michael’s blockage in last weekend’s race.

    6. Its really disappointing to not see Fernando on the front row. I think he would have schooled the rest of the drivers on the grid in the race. But… lets hope some rain and safety car periods come to his rescue.

      1. well he shouldn’t have thrown it all away in practice!

    7. *Crying* I just came back to hte computer after qual and found my predictions satrring at me ready to submit.

      WHY WHY WHY???

I even had decent guesses! ….

    8. Can somebody help to explain when a car starts from pit lane when he can start off? Is it when the lights go out (i assume the light at end of the pit lane goes out at the same time with the 5 main lights) or he has to wait until the last car pass across? Is there a possibility that a car start from pit lane is more advantageous that say the 22nd or 23rd car?

      1. no he either has to wait for the last car to cross the 2nd safety car line (near turn 1 most likely) or wait for the second safety car (the one behind the grid at the start) to cross it…

    9. Shouldn’t the decision on Massa’s penalty (or lack thereof) be out by now?

If there is nothing to report on that matter, we can only assume that the stewards have passed it off as a non-issue.

I am not in favour of a penalty to the Brazilian, but he deserves a ‘warning’ at the very least.

      1. http://www.planet-f1.com/news/3213/6156178/Jense-Agrees-Massa-s-A-Plonker

According to this, Massa has indeed escaped penalty.

No mention of a warning either. But I doubt if the matter will fade away, with Button calling Massa a Plonker and historically, stewarding decisions being in favor of Ferrari.

        1. I don’t usually trust Planet F1 at all but it does seem very latw in the deay if he does get a punishment.
In think it’s a pointless argument anyway, maybe he should be penalized I said on the blog myself I thought he should but a Mclaren did exactly the same at the very end of Q1 and had a little queue behind I remember Brundle saying. He should get some reprimandn and I wouldn’t argue too strongly against a penalty but I really don’t get the fuss just about Massa esp when the blue flags were very late.

        2. please dont stir up a story that BUT called MAS a plonker. read that article pleeeease!

        3. QUOTE:

” Asked if Massa had been “a complete plonker,” Button replied: “Your words not mine.” “

          1. yeah doesn’t really mean he described him like that.

            1. nor does it mean that Button agrees with the statement,

but it is very likely that he does agree haha… i certainly do

    10. hopefully button gets past schuamacher, dont want a barcelona repeat.

      1. Yeah I hope Button gets a good start

    11. Isnt pole on the wrong side cuz the frst corner is a right hander but they start on the left

      1. Pole position is on the right-hand side at Monaco.

    12. Isnt pole on the wrong side cuz the frst corner is a right hander but they start on the right !!!!!! ??????
