Who’ll win the 2015 title? Try the Points Calculator

2015 F1 season

Lewis Hamilton holds a 27-point lead following the first four races of 2015 – but will he stay ahead until the end?

Team mate Nico Rosberg could be a major threat if he rediscovers his qualifying form of last year, and Ferrari has emerged as a potent threat to Mercedes over the winter.

Mercedes’ reliability can’t be taken for granted either. And then there’s the question of whether Red Bull and McLaren will find their form with the latest engine regulations and become race-winning prospects before the year is out.

Or perhaps Hamilton is on the cusp of a dominant streak which could see him wrap up the title long before the end of the season.

However you think the remaining 15 races of the year might unfold, the F1 Fanatic Points Calculator can help you work it all out – and answer those puzzling questions about how F1’s old points systems might have produced a different result.

The calculator will be updated with the latest results after every race. But you can edit every driver’s finishing position for the year to work out what could, would or should happen – and how the championship will be decided. Give it a try now – and please make any suggestions for further additions or improvements in the comments:

I don’t necessarily think a calculator is required to determine who’s most likely going to win this season. Sure, if some unforeseen things swing certain ways, maybe Vettel or even Kimi could. But I’d wager a large sum on Hamilton.

Came to say this. No calculator is needed: Mercedes and Hamilton have already won. But I could have told you that at the start of last year, and so could most of us…

Odds are, Merc and Hamilton have already won next year, too — and every year until homologation is removed or we get a new engine formula.

      1. Wow that escalated quickly!

Are you serious, how do you know Ferrari will not overtake Merc, anyone can admit that were having a much closer season than we could have dreamed of. I honestly think if Kimi was not stuck behind Vet and went onto Primes he could have even won Bahrain. Ferrari have a win and a 2nd place there doing just fine. They are not even that far behind in race pace.

Luckily for Merc they have Hamilton, 2 Rosbergs in the car and Vet would beat Ros imo. I hope you are right though, i want Ham to absoloutely dominate for next few years. I would love it if Ham won like 15 races this year lol. Ferrari have been poor at devoloping the car for years, last time they did well was 2010 for all we know they will out develope Merc this year.

  3. My boy Perez has still got this…

    1. My cash is on Chilton.

  4. I know who’s certainly not gonna come out on top: the fans.

    This year is pathetic.

    1. why? I’d say it’s been more entertaining than last year so far…

  5. The question is who’s going to come second. I think it’s a mistake for Toto and Niki and everyone to keep talking about what Rosberg has to do to beat Lewis, it just piles on pressure and will make him lose performance and make mistakes. He couldn’t do it in 2013 or 2014 and the gap keeps growing as the car suits Lewis more and more. Nico has to keep it clean to make sure he beats the Ferraris.

As for interest, I can’t wait to see whose upgrades are worth what this weekend.

Unless I’m mistaken, but how would this help Nico? He had 11 poles and converted 3 whilst being overtaken 3 times by his teammate. Lewis converted 6 of 7 and so far this season 3 of 4.

So being on pole doesn’t really do him any favours.

What is the most interesting thing about this, is that some metrics have Vettel in second instead of Rosberg. But then again only 2 points seperate them and Vettel has a win (unlike Rosberg), so I guess one can expect that.
