McLaren have run their new car for the 2020 F1 season on-track for the first time today.
Carlos Sainz Jnr and Lando Norris took turn driving the MCL35 at the home of the Spanish Grand Prix in a filming day.
The car will next run when the first three-day pre-season test begins at the Circuit de Catalunya on Wednesday.
McLaren weren’t the only team running their car at the track today. Williams, Haas and Renault also ran their new cars for the first time.

Beauty. McLaren clearly wins it this year, them and Red Bull have the best looking cars so far. Honourable mention to Haas.

@pironitheprovocateur My top favorites aesthetics-wise are Williams, RP, and AT respectively.

I’m digging the matte finish.

The orange halo looks so ugly. It just says me ‘look, I am here!’

Yep, it comes up as a different shade to the rest of the car, like extra bright. Much nicer in black like they had in 2019.

The thin noses really give these wider F1 cars the right look. Shame Ferrari are still unable to pass crash testing without their bulbous front end.

I think Ferrari might still bring something of this sort to testing, I guess we’ll see tomorrow or next Wednesday. I’ve read several rumour articles about trying the new nose cone and after seeing the leaked image of the new Renault, I highly doubt Ferrari’s not capable of the same. The only reason why they’d still cling to the wide nosecone would be that the aero revamp needs to be so radical that it wouln’t make sense at all.

I hope so. Front end of that car is so inelegant.
