“Of course I’ll take care as much as possible to not do stupid moves,” Tsunoda told media including RaceFans after qualifying yesterday. “The things a couple of times I did, unnecessary things, that yellow flag for example, I’ll try definitely to stop those things.”

He said his penalty for failing to slow for a yellow flag was due to a “miscommunication” with his race engineer. “Normally, of course, I reduce myself the speed and I never got a penalty for a yellow flag. There was a bit of misunderstanding over the radio, that’s why I didn’t really slow.

“Still, it’s my responsibility, I should still reduce it, especially for a yellow flag when it’s for the safety. I’ll learn for next time.”

Former Red Bull junior Vips’ future “looking quite difficult”

Despite securing his first Formula 2 win of the year in the Monza sprint race, Jüri Vips admitted that his future is highly uncertain due to his performance in the series this year.

Vips was dropped from the Red Bull Junior Team after he used a racial slur on a Twitch stream. He said that his involvement with the team, for whom he was test and reserve driver until the incident, even driving in a first practice session in Barcelona, was “all done and over, in the past.”

For his future, the driver who currently lies eighth in the F2 standings, said: “We’re still looking into next year. It’s looking quite difficult at the moment based on where we are in the championship and how the season’s gone. So we’re trying. But can’t give you anything yet.”

Bearman needs “miracle” for F3 title

Ferrari academy driver Oliver Bearman has downplayed his chances of snatching the FIA Formula 3 title during this morning’s championship-deciding feature race.

Bearman is one of six drivers in contention for the title, coming down to its final race in Monza. Bearman, currently third, is 13 points behind leader Victor Martins, with a ten-point gap from him to sixth-place Arthur Leclerc. With a maximum of 26 points available during the race, for win and fastest lap, Bearman remains in contention for the title, but downplayed his chances.

“I think I have to hope for a miracle to win the championship, but I’m just going to do my best and show a good race,” he said.

“I think what I did today was a good performance. After Zandvoort it was pretty tough to win the championship, so I’m just going to do my best job, I’m not really looking so much at it.”

    Miki Koyama is someone i heard get a lot of quiet praise the previous few years while she was in W Series.

    The thing i heard a lot was that while she wasn’t often able to extract ultimate pace from the car over one lap in qualifying, Once she settled in on race day she showed very good racecraft and was brilliant at overtaking.

    The feeling apparently was that her lack of English, Unfamiliarity with circuits and difficulty adapting to the different culture were what was holding her back and that with more time she had the potential to be very fast.

    Looking at the results of the championship she’s been racing in back in Japan she was by far the standout driver of the season having won half the races and finished 2nd in all but 1 of the others with that other 1 been a 3rd.

    Hopefully she gets another shot outside of Japan when she’s more ready for it.
