Formula 1 will begin a series of three consecutive grands prix this weekend when it visits the Circuit of the Americas.

The second US round of the season is also the penultimate sprint race event of the year and the first time F1 has held back-to-back sprint weekends.

In another first, F1 will be joined by its new junior series for female racers, F1 Academy. The inaugural championship began at the Red Bull Ring in April and the upcoming trio of races in Austin will decide its first title winner.

  1. I still wish the qualifying (& practice) day schedulings for the daylight North American events reverted to how they used to be, with qualifying sharing a start time with the race or only being an hour later whatever, but even more so, I hope sprint format for COTA (& any above-referred NA location, for that matter) would be a one-off thing with the standard format returning for next season unless the sprint day session timings were brought forward by two hours, for example.

  2. 03 Long, rambling comment with off target speculation
04 Compulsory comment about session times / sunset times

    1. You again as I expected & nothing about sunset times this time, lol.

  3. That agenda is so sprawling it’s a tune in 8pm Sunday for Max lights till flag win…. meh, probably watch Nascar live at Miami on freesat…

  4. Pretty sure those F1 Academy slots are wrong.
Times might be OK if days are Sat (R1/R2) Sun (R3)
