  1. So bad. We now know tomorrow will be a snooze too. What a shame.

    1. Agree, today was a waste of time. But tomorrow, new rubber, at least one pit stop, maybe a tad of strategy (I hope no safety cars), and perhaps Verstappen thinking he doesn’t like 6th, maybe we’ll see a few remnants of proper F1 GP racing. But I might be dreaming…

  2. An action-packed first three laps, & even afterwards, still decent racing, so overall a relatively good sprint.

  3. F1 sprints are like movie trailers which give us the whole plot and zap any excitement away. We now know Verstappen easily has the pace to dominate tomorrow from P6. After an electric qualifying it’s such a let down.

  4. I don’t expect much from F1 anymore and I still can’t express how disappointed I am.

Luckily it’s a sprint weekend so I already know to spend my Sunday evening differently.

  5. Pretty standard sprint race – little happening after the first couple of laps and just coasting to the end because there’s no strategy, undercuts, overcuts, or tyre offsets happening. We’ve had a couple of good sprint races this year, but I feel this is more a return to the norm. Preview for tomorrow’s race – will maybe be a decent fight between Lando and Lewis for P2.

  6. Snoozefest, the TV director had no idea what to show other than Sainz trying to defend for 90% of the race.

    1. Not only on Sainz- Ive noticed the TV director cutting suddenly on the turn for a worst angle.
During the straight the camera captures the two car approaching each other, but just as the cars got into the breaking zone, the camera changes, to a tigher framing, basically showing only one car, and you lose the perspective and sense of position.
I dont know if it was on purpose, but it was confusing.

Any optimism I had after qualifying has been obliterated by the sprint.

  8. Terrible sprint indeed, with drivers ahead just increasing their gap instead of closing in, I gave it 3 and as of the time of posting there’s a single 7, all other ratings are negative, including a massive 40% minimum score, and in this particular case I guess it can’t only be the anti-sprint people, there has to be some actual 1.

    1. Oh, wow, an 8 appeared just as I was posting!

  9. 56 laps and Max finished an average .5 sec a lap ahead of Lewis.
So the handicap is for Lewis to be less than 28 sec behind the Red Bull.

    Go Lewis!!

  10. Bang on average so 5/10. A classic case of things would have been interesting if it was a full GP with strategies coming into play but alas there’s no time for that so they all just hold station. Carlos did well to secure Charlie’s podium!

  11. Introduce universal cars and one tyre for spirnt races. Only driver talent should shine in such short races. The car factor is more appropriate for Grand Prix.

Problem is that, more often than not, it leads to predictability and monotony in those too…

  12. Stop with sprint. Immediately

  13. I actually turned it off. Not bothered about tonight’s race after that.
