Campos Racing and Rodin Carlin have become the latest two teams to announce their Formula 2 line-ups for 2024.

Two Red Bull juniors will partner up at Campos, with series sophomore Isack Hadjar joining the team from rival squad Hitech GP while Campos regular Pepe Marti steps up from the FIA Formula 3 Championship.

Marti was signed by Red Bull less than three months ago, just before the FIA F3 finale at Monza where he secured fifth place in the standings. He won three races during the campaign, and recently came fifth for Campos in the Macau Grand Prix.

His new team mate Hadjar drove Sergio Perez’s Red Bull RB19 in first practice for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last week. Hadjar was a race-winner in Formula Regional’s Asian and European championships before moving up to FIA F3 with Red Bull’s backing last year, coming fourth in the standings with three wins and a pole.

Red Bull then decided to place Hadjar in F2 for 2023, and he came 14th in the standings with a single podium. He was given Formula 1 practice outings, despite finishing the season behind several other more experienced Red Bull juniors.

Carlin have retained another Red Bull junior, Zane Maloney, for a second season. They have also signed Toyota’s Super Formula champion Ritomo Miyata to be his team mate.

Toyota announced Miyata’s F2 move earlier this month as part of its international driver development programme for Japanese drivers. Miyata previously won two Formula 4 titles and the Super Formula Lights championship in his home country.

He has been racing at the top level of open-wheel racing since 2020, claiming his first Super Formula podiums last year then beating Red Bull-backed Liam Lawson to this year’s title in a campaign featuring two wins. Miyata will drive in the European Le Mans Series’ LMP2 class alongside his season in F2, and also be Toyota’s reserve driver for its hypercar entry in the World Endurance Championship.

Maloney was 2022 FIA F3 championship runner-up, then took four feature race podiums en route to 10th in the standings in his rookie F2 season. He also raced at this year’s Macau Grand Prix, finishing eighth.

Four F2 teams have now completed their line-ups for 2024, and 12 of the 22 places on the grid have been taken. The official 2023 post-season test takes place this week at Yas Marina circuit.
