What do you think about it?
To be honest, if Vettel does indeed have a contract for 2014, the only logical step was to retain Felipe for one last hurrah at the Scuderia before the inevitable boot.
It does seem a strange step for Ferrari though, the last time I can remember them fielding a line-up without intending to run in the No.1/No.2 style was with Berger and Alesi in the mid-90’s.
(Of course, Raikkonen and Massa proved fairly evenly matched, but Raikkonen was clearly supposed to be the No.1.)
I fully expect Alonso to have the better of Vettel, should the move come to pass, but then Button surprised the masses against Hamilton, so it will be a great spectacle come 2014.
It also leaves a bit of a conundrum for Red Bull that season, as Webber isn’t a team leader – can they secure Raikkonen? Or is someone else good enough to take up the mantle?
