As much as anything else, I love hearing the noise of the crowd! Like in Montreal when Dan passed Nico, the place erupted, yet that would have been all but drowned out by the engines in past years.

Yes, Vettel ran away with it up front, but there were some great battles all the way down the field. Great performances from a few drivers, and plenty of overtaking without always talking about tires.
I would say another big factor was that it wasn’t just broadcast on NBC Sports Network, but on NBC proper. So all the network affiliates were showing it, and you didn’t need to subscribe to NBC Sports Network to watch it.

You know, I started watching IndyCar just last year, despite being in North America, because of Rubens Barrichello. But I found so much to root for, and I’m really excited for this season!

I hadn’t thought about NBC, but that’s a good point. I miss proxying the BBC iPlayer, though.
