  1. I was initially surprised about the 2020 race start image rather than last season’s since TV time posts generally feature a given track’s previous-season start image or the most recent by that point.
Of course, last season’s race didn’t have a standing start, so a fair exception to the rule.

      It didn’t have a start

  2. Five (5) Belgian GP Talking points

    1. How will Ferrari throw away points in belgian forests?

Ferrari started the season strongly but have failed to capitalize their pace by strategy plunders and driver errors. It is highly likely this form to continue rather than hear the italian national anthem on sunday.

    2. By which margin will Verstappen win his second home race?

Last years race wasn’t a race but Max bagged the maximum points. The current championship leader is the clear favorite (not maybe on pace) to win. He might lose pole to Leclerc but in the race he and Red Bull will certainly find a way to the top step of the podium.

    3. In which order will Mercedes driver finish in 2nd and 3rd?

Hamilton has a good run of podiums but apart from one race (Silverstone) hasn’t been able to keep up with the leaders. Russell got his first podium last year in Spa so he also is a strong canditate for the top3. In which order is the question.

    4. Rain rain go away

We all know what the weather can do in Spa. It is more likely to rain in here but by how much no one knows until sunday and propably not even then. Rain is expected in Saturday and Sunday but it can change even faster than Ferrari’s strategy calls.

    5. Gasly’s in the centuries

Pierre Gasly will be 76th driver to hit the 100 mark. He started his career back in 2017 in Toro Rosso and will now surpass Sir Jackie and Robert Kubica to go one better.

I hope we will get a full race this time. The 2005 United States GP was a bit of a farce but at least it was the full race distance. It was really sad we didn’t get a full race last year on the best circuit on the calendar

It’s absolutely scandalous that we didn’t get a race last year and only saw F1 tick a couple of boxes that meant that they had met the contractual minimum and therefore didn’t have to give a refund – tough do-dah to the promoters (and fans) being their attitude.
