Three more teams, including world champions Red Bull, have confirmed the dates for their launch activities ahead of the 2024 Formula 1 season.

Reigning constructors’ champions Red Bull will hold a launch event on Thursday 15th February. The team have not revealed any further details about the launch or their new car, the RB20, which will be the successor to the most successful F1 car or all time.

Since the last major chance in F1’s technical regulations in 2022, Red Bull have won 38 of the 44 grands prix.

One day before their rivals, Mercedes will launch their new W15 on Wednesday 14th February, one week before the start of pre-season testing in Bahrain. The eight-times constructors champions will hold their launch event at Silverstone as usual.

Following two disappointing seasons with their ‘zero sidepod’ aerodynamic concept, the W15 is expected to be a major departure from their previous two cars. The team has only scored a single victory since the current aerodynamic regulations were introduced.

Team principal Toto Wolff indicated early last season that his team would likely take an approach similar to that of Red Bull for 2024, after the world champions dominated the last two seasons in the sport.

Alpine have also announced they will hold a “season launch” event one week before Mercedes on Wednesday 7th February. The French manufacturer is entering the World Endurance Championship’s top Hypercar class this year in addition to its F1 programme.

The Renault-owned team finished sixth in the constructors’ championship last season, a fall of two places from 2022. This year will be Alpine’s first full season since they announced significant investment from a consortium of investors that acquired a 24% stake in the team last year, including Wrexham FC owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, golf superstar Rory McIlroy and boxer Anthony Joshua among others.

Alpine will retain their all-French driver line-up of Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon for 2024 following their first season together last year. Both drivers secured a single podium appearance over the course of the season, finishing 11th and 12th in the drivers championship, respectively.

Six teams have now confirmed their launch plans for the new season. Only McLaren, Haas and both Red Bull teams have yet to announce plans for launching their 2024 cars.
