Recently Pirelli officially announced their new test driver in the shape of Lucas di Grassi. This obviously means they are still testing for the forseeable future, as otherwise you would pay him test by test. Surely by the end of the season they’ll have finalised their compounds, so will they close their test team, which I believe is run by Toyota? If not, when will they stop testing?

I read recently that they’re going to stop testing the Toyota soon, because it is gradually getting more and more out of date as technology advances, and thus won’t be useful to them for much longer

Wonder what they’ll use car wise after they get rid of the Toyota?

Would a team supply a 2011 car to them once this season is over?

Would they be allowed to? Some teams could complain that the team was recieving an unfair advantage.

I think Pirelli intend to continuosly test their tyres, unlike bridgestone and are hoping for a return of full blown tyre tests, with all the teams. It has also been stated in interviews that they would like competition in the future.
