At least I can tell what it’s for, which makes it better than the F1. (However, that only works because I know TCR is involved; for an outsider, both would be equally obscure).
Of course, lobbing three different logo elements together in a double-layered, overlapping spread does look like someone insufficiently versed in their graphics program…[Read more]

Wow that’s bad! I get that they didn’t have much time to do something properly, but that’s bad even by MS Paint standards

As for the logo, surely they could have done better than bolting the ‘W’ from WTCC onto the existing TCR brand?
This throws a whole new perspective on the F1 logo debate…

That’s an ambulance, it’s red cause it’s fire-fighter’s, possibly volunteers as well. Unbelievable.

The other astonishing thing about this is there wasn’t even a yellow flag after it – never mind a red flag, which was surely warranted. Heads must roll over this one.

So basically they have a clear path to the public?
Who the hell designed that place!?
Also I wonder if insurance covers it…

Looks like quite a fun circuit, well suited to that type of touring car. I don’t know if the racing will be the best, given the tightness of the track, it should be a fun driver’s track. And there are some longish straights with heavy braking zones so there should be some passing.

I was fooled by having the two images next to each other there, too me a while to work out the scale is very different and that the current start finish straight will be more than halved in size. I think I read that the new layout will be around 1 mile shorter. So the new circuit will be a tight little track but yes definitely an improvement on…[Read more]

@atticus-2 I agree. I really hope this is something Tilke will be looking to implement in more future tracks.

It looks very positive indeed.
Granted, it was probably the easiest thing to improve upon the original ‘design’, it was that bleak, but the re-design looks eye-catching on its own.
Two features stand out for me.
1) The layout shows Tilke finally began to experiment with longer radius corners (T1, T3) instead of making everything…[Read more]

Yeah, these series are now so small, that it’s only worth it for a 2-3 year quick domination – get all the marketing ‘bang for buck’, then leave it for the next manufacturer to do the same.
I guess VW will pull out from WRC to save costs for the emissions scandal?

But in VW’s case, Polo WRC isn’t available for the privateers, so when they pull the plug, many of the Polos would be in museum.
And I wouldn’t mind if Citroen still supporting the privateers.
