The layout used today is very similar to that which Giuseppe Farina won the first world championship on 60 years ago. But even with three slow chicanes installed today’s cars will lap it at an average of 250kph (155mph) – 75kph quicker than they did in Farina’s time.

Ferrari escape further punishment for German GP team orders (Updated)

The FIA have announced Ferrari will not be punished any further for using team orders during the German Grand Prix. However the World Motor Sport Council upheld the $100,000 fine imposed by the stewards after the Hockenheim race. Update: The FIA have said they will review the ban on team orders (article 39.1). No 13th F1 team in 2011

There will be no 13th team on the F1 grid in 2011. The World Motor Sport Council announced today that none of the applications met their criteria to fill the vacant place on the grid, meaning there will be a maximu mof 24 cars competing in Formula 1 next year.
