Aston Martin will reveal their 2024 challenger on Monday 12th February, becoming the fourth team to confirm a launch date for the upcoming season.

Heading into their fourth season under their current identity, the Silverstone-based team will unveil their latest car for the 2024 Formula 1 world championship at their recently opened factory in the middle of next month.

Following the naming convention Aston Martin have had for their previous cars, the 2024 chassis will be named the ‘AMR24′.

Last year, Aston Martin enjoyed their strongest season since they transitioned into their current identity. The team finished fifth in the constructors’ championship on the back of eight podium finishes – all scored by Fernando Alonso in his first year since joining them. However over the final 15 rounds of the season the team fell from second in the championship to fifth as they lost ground to rivals Mercedes, Ferrari and McLaren.

Aston Martin will once again field a driver line-up of two-times world champion Alonso with younger team mate Lance Stroll. The latter finished six places and 132 points adrift of his team mate in the standings.

The team formally opened their new factory at their Silverstone site in June last year, making the AMR24 the first Formula 1 car to be produced by the state-of-the-art new facility. Team principal Mike Krack will lead them for the third successive season, having taken over at the start of 2022.

Aston Martin are the fourth team to confirm a launch date for their new car for the upcoming season. Sauber, now officially participating as ‘Stake F1 Team’, will unveil their C44 on Monday 5th February, the same day as Williams’ pre-season launch event. The new Ferrari will appear on the day after Aston Martin’s launch, on Tuesday 13th February.

  1. But not necessarily the actual AMR24, although they seemingly showed the actual car both last year & 2022 unlike many other teams.

    1. I think the first day of pre-season testing has become the standard car reveal day. This is just a livery launch day…

      1. correct only when they reveal their car for a filming day you can see the real car. Otherwise you see them on the pre-season testing.

    2. Good point!

It should be mandatory to reveal the actual car for pre-season testing. Livery reveals on last year’s cars are pointless.

Ideally I would like to see livery reveals on the car that will do the actual first race. This should happen between pre-season testing and the first race. Some kind of dress rehearsal before the main event. The pre-season testing cars could be black, camouflaged or in plain heritage colours. Key is to build-up the tease, and not reveal all at once.
