I’m sure we will see some more crashes in the next three races, but up until now, I think these three crashes were the most spectacular of the season –
#3. Trulli tries to overtake Chandhok by flying over him (Monaco)
#2. Kobayashi into Buemi and Hulkerberg (Australia)

#1. Webber’s super spectacular crash at Valencia
Let me know if there are others you think were better

And then there was Liuzzi going gearbox-first into the side of Kobayashi in China.
And Webber and Vettel’s now-infamous “Last Tango in Istanbul”.

13th October 2010, 10:50 at 10:50 am #147380IcthyesParticipantThere was one involving Buemi in Malaysia that I can’t quite remember everything about. Or might be imagining.
13th October 2010, 11:13 at 11:13 am #147381BleuParticipantI don’t recall crash in Malaysia, but do you mean his double front suspension failure at China?
13th October 2010, 21:07 at 9:07 pm #147382Ned FlandersParticipantObviously Webber’s was the best. In fact, it was quite possibly the coolest crash I’ve seen in over 10 years of watching F1.
The two Williams shunts at Monaco were impressive. Especially Barrichello’s, he gets a few bonus points for hitting the barrier on both sides of the track. Although he’s docked a point for throwing his steering wheel at Chandok afterwards! Barrichello’s assault on Alonso at Spa was a good ‘un too.
Buemi’s crazy suspension failiure at Shanghai- as I believe Icthyes probably meant above- was also pretty crazy, although seeing the two wheels clearing the spectator fence was a huge worry for me
13th October 2010, 21:21 at 9:21 pm #147383IcthyesParticipantJust checked, I was wrong and it was in China. But it wasn’t the suspension failure I meant, turns out it was Liuzzi flying into him, plus Kobayashi as PM said.
13th October 2010, 22:23 at 10:23 pm #147384ScribeParticipant1 Vettle and Webber for the incredible drama of it, after the whole race, nay the last two races, had been building up to it, and everyone saw it comming when Vettle pulled up along side him. Then boom, OH SHI-
2 Webbflip, it was damn cool, an he was fine so it’s a’kay to say it.
3 I liked Massa and Liuzzi’s argument in Canada where the red mist took over, myroadMYROAD! three hits. One of Luizzi’s enginers said the car looked like a shark attacked it.
13th October 2010, 23:15 at 11:15 pm #147385electroliteParticipantHa, Webber should win the WDC purely for being in the car that was in that car crash, whether he orchestrated it or not ;) I loved it when it showed the shot of him walking back to the paddock – all he did was raise his eyebrows and smiled slightly as if to say ‘well, sh** happens!’
13th October 2010, 23:15 at 11:15 pm #147386gpcampbellParticipantYES to the person who said double suspensions failure! That was the most random thing I think I’ve ever seen.
Also its a shame no-one caught Lucas Di-Grassi’s failure to make the race, 130R crash.
And the Hulk failing to turn (to be fair his car was broken) in the monaco tunnel.
But the high energy red-bull crashes (see what i did there) have to take the top two places I think, with Kobayashi’s spearing antics in Austraila when he lost that front wing.
14th October 2010, 2:41 at 2:41 am #147387wasiF1ParticipantWebber’s super spectacular crash at Valencia.
14th October 2010, 8:19 at 8:19 am #147388SilverkegParticipantBuemi’s at China Practice and Webber’s Valencia Race were such extraordinary, unusual crashes that they have to be at the top and the heartbreaking drama of the Red Bull Turkey crash :( as well
14th October 2010, 11:22 at 11:22 am #147389damonsmedleyParticipantI know Webber’s crash was spectacular and reflecting on it now, it seems pretty entertaining, but I remember when watching it I didn’t find it enjoyable. First of all, when I saw the car drifting towards the fence I cringed, but luckily, gravity saved the car from ending up in the spectators area and the subsequent roll was violent, but given the safety regulations, reasonably harmless. The bit that really scared me was how it suddenly became apparent how short the run-off was. I was thinking “Oh dear, that car has just flown completely over the top of the braking zone, now he has got 50m to slow the car down with only 3 wheels on a slippery surface.” When I saw the inevitable impact drawing ever closer, I nearly closed my eyes and turned away! I honestly thought the car was going to go through the tyre barrier and the concrete wall. (Reminded me of Dino Morelli’s F3000 shunt at the Nurburgring in 1997 – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIzR78AfQFw)
Nevertheless my top 3 would be:
3: Barrichello in Monaco
2: Trulli and Chandhok in Monaco
1: Kobayashi, Hulkenberg and Buemi in Melbourne
