Max should’ve backed off rather than go for a gap that didn’t exist.
Leclerc is partly at fault for Perez’s 5-second.
What a race for Mclaren. I didn’t see a 1-2 coming.

Ricciardo controlled it from start.

@jerejj Hamilton should have left room!
Jim from US (@jimfromus)
12th September 2021, 15:35
There is no room. Verstappen drive straight through that curve earlier because there is no room. He was upset and was behind and knew cutting the curve would put him behind.

They were not side by side at corner entry, Verstappen showed earlier how such chicanes should be taken. Hamilton knew even if he was slightly ahead, he should bail out at that first lap incident. Verstappen forced the accident it is obvious.

You all knew it was going to happen again. In the end, it was a racing incident.

how leclerc did not got a penalty after the bottas incident and checo did is beyond me, they where the same action.
Jere (@jerejj)
12th September 2021, 16:45
@luca Bottas eventually passed him anyway, while Leclerc never re-passed Perez.
LUCA (@luca)
12th September 2021, 17:15
that does not make any sense, even if bottas passed him eventually that does not redeem him for passing bottas outside the track and not give the position back correctly (see raikkonen hamilton spa 2008), he should had been penalized.

Bottas once again driving the way he did this time last year…
Its a wonder he made it on to the podium.

Just look at lap1 Hamilton, Norris.
Same corner but Lewis knew how to give room.
MarcusAurelius (@marcusaurelius)

Spot on. For Norris he would leave room. But with Max there seems to be some red mist.
Neither of them want to give the other anything.

Good for Mclaren, used to despise that team under the old regime but they’re likeable now. Still think Ricciardo is overrated and has had a poor season, but he had a great weekend here. As for the Verstappen-Hamilton thing… racing incident, but Hamilton should have left more room – asking for a collision, and Verstappen obliged.

They are likeable because they they dont win anymore. Be honest!

I can only see that as a race incident? Verstappen had the right to go round where he did but it was very narrow and Hamilton could have given him more room but didn’t need to – so very 50-50. It was the sausage kerb that seemed to launch Verstappen upwards but the halo again 100% proving how vital it is.
MaddMe (@)
12th September 2021, 15:44
Absolutely, without the Halo, I think Hamilton would have lost his head…

It’s a racing incident along with Imola and Silverstone.

TFLB (@tflb)
12th September 2021, 16:35
@doctorlovesexy not really on merit… he got lucky with the safety car timing. He was running behind Latifi before but Latifi pitted just before the safety car came out. Latifi deserved the points instead of Russell today.

Great job from McLaren!
Took the lead and kept it on pure pace. From 2012 to 2021, but you did guys! Yes!!
