  1. A decent race overall. Some good racing from P2 downwards even if mostly DRS trains.

    1. I’m glad we got some good moves through the field early on. After the SC it mostly turned into a DRS train and the Hamilton vs. Alonso battle neutered too.

A more or less normal F1 race

  2. Another RBR cruise

It was alright, a bit sleepy at the front but behind was quite fun. Albon holding off several cars without DRS was impressive.

  4. A thoroughly enjoyable race! Plenty of on track scraps, DRS which was about right this time around, and some varied strategies. I don’t think Fernando had a realistic chance of victory but surely his consistency will pay off at some point this season! Ferrari managed to salvage something which I was a little surprised to see given their recent history of strategic blunders! Gave it an 8.

  5. I think it was the most entertaining race so far this season. 8

  6. I’ll go 7 for the race but an 8 for the weekend.
I know nothing really happened up front, but there was quite a lot of interest overall for me.

Great to see three WDC’s on the podium …. even better that they are in three different cars.
Ferrari didn’t make any insane decisions.
    Albon gave it full beans.
And it is nice to see Lance get points at his home race.

The half a bottle of wine and two rum and cokes I consumed during the event may have clouded my judgement ;P

    1. Any idea what Rum they served? I loved it!

  7. For a race I usually enjoy, this one wasn’t really great. There was some decent scraps, but overall a bit lacking. VER strolling around probably set the tone harder for me than the rest of the action this time. Also, Perez isn’t delivering, so much in fact I believe he is reaching the Gasly/Albon treshold.

    1. @keithcollantine Please take a look into those clueless filters. I haven’t said anything inappropriate here. It’s not the first, second, nor third time, actually.

  8. Was interesting watching it only on live timing screen and listening to radio…

  9. Boring again. 3. Commentators are working harder trying to sell excitement, but HAM was never going to catch ALO. They have been doing a hard sell on these “battles” the last few races only for the last lap to show the cars 5 seconds or more apart.

  10. Reasonably entertaining. Not much action at the front but a good overtake by Alonso on Ham. I think both achieved the best positions they could.

Good recovery drives by the Ferraris to get 4th and 5th. Also a good drive by Albon and some good overtakes by Norris. 7/10.

  11. I settled on a five, which at the current time seems to be a little below average for the ratings cast.

I could partake in standard forum hyperbole with comments such as “what race were you guys watching” or “must be a reflection of the current state of F1 races”, but instead I’ll just acknowledge that we all have different views.

Not that 5 is a bad rating. I never miss a race and alllllllllmost never regret watching any, so to suggest this was midpack is okay I think. But it does raise the question, am I rating the race against other races, or simply for it’s independent entertainment factor?

If I were rating them based solely on their value in my life, none of them would ever get beyond a 4. Even the best F1 ‘race’ is still predictable, mediocre and monotonous these days. There is rarely any feeling of suspense or surprise, as they all typically run pretty much to the way the teams plan them out in advance and manage them along the way.

I’ll give this one a 4, based on it’s relationship to other F1 races. I won’t remember it next week. Actually, I’ve already forgotten almost all of it and can’t really recall any highlights.

  12. 1. another snooze fest, this season has been depressing, almost as if it is punishment for the 2021 season

  13. It was a good race. Safety car helped bunch up the field and there was fair amount of racing in the top 10. Gave it 7/10. A bit more competition for the top spot is needed as Red Bull is still quite a bit ahead. If Perez at the second Red Bull is unable to improve, the competition for the second place would be close.
