  1. Are the results final yet?

    ….horrible to watch
    happy for Piastri, but still

  2. An unexpected outcome at the top, but Max will probably overtake both eventually unless he loses P3 for track limits.

    1. How is this unexpected? McLaren has the fastest car, so if anything yesterday was unexpected with Max beating both his rivals in a quicker car by 0.3 and 0.5s respectively. As Norris said “it should have been my pole yesterday and today”, there’s no discussion.

  3. The “world’s best racing drivers” still haven’t learned how to stay on the track.
    Embarrassing.

    1. You’re missing the point. The only way you can be sure to stay on track is to go slow. If you go fast there’s no way to judge the line properly, since there’s no visibility. If you don’t risk you’ll be last, so of course you’ll take a risk. There is a context to every story… Nothing embarrassing about the driving, it’s the rules that aren’t ideal. And that’s not something new, it’s been acknowledged.

      1. Oh, okay… Which rule/s should be changed?

The point is that drivers are the ones turning the steering wheel and pushing the pedals. They are the ones making choices about how much risk they take.
They can push (too) hard and risk penalties, or they can leave just a tiny bit on the table and stay on the track.
        Choices. Not rules.

  4. Just a shame it isn’t a proper pole position for the proper race.

People usually remember a drivers first pole but i doubt anyone will think anything of this non-pole in an irrelevant session for the non-race they still won’t call a race and which fewer people watch.

And should a McLaren win the silly sprint it won’t count as a race win so won’t be a real win and will be something nobody remembers and nobody will care about.

Welcome to the show formerly known as the SPORT of F1.

    1. F1 as a SPORT is such a joke right now.

I’m not sure the overall SPORT has ever been is a worse state!

    2. Well at least I am impressed. Piastri did a fantastic job beating Norris and Verstappen.
I will remember how good he really is got a pole position in F1. Excellent, job well done, keep it up Oscar you are a true talent.

  5. Verstappen didn’t lose his final lap? He did the same as Tsunoda there.
Do they really think the audience enjoys this deleted lap time festival?
The session ended and we can’t even be sure of the final order.

  6. Here’s a crazy stat…Alonso has more Q3 appearances this season than Checo and Stroll COMBINED.
