Ferrari have revealed their revised look for their 499P hypercar for the 2024 World Endurance Championship season.
The defending Le Mans 24 Hours winners returned to the highest class of endurance racing last season with a two car entry into the WEC.While rivals Toyota won every other round of the WEC championship last year, Ferrari won the Le Mans 24 Hours with the number 51 team of Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi.
It was the first time that Ferrari had raced in the top class of Le Mans in 50 years and their win was their first overall race victory since 1964.
Ferrari will again run the same two car teams for this year’s World Endurance Championship, retaining the same driver line-ups of Pier Guidi, Calado and Giovinazzi in the number 51 car and Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen in the number 50 car.
Unveiling the liveries for the 2024 season, Ferrari say the 499P’s colour scheme combines the colours used in the Ferrari 312 PB, the last prototype the team raced in the WEC before their 50 year hiatus, and the F2007 Formula 1 car that Kimi Raikkonen raced to the team’s most recent world drivers’ championship.
There is greater use of yellow on this year’s livery, which Ferrari say is intended to “accentuate the car’s body and cockpit”. The new scheme should also improve the car’s visibility under low light conditions, Ferrari claim.
The WEC season will begin in Qatar with a 1,812km race around the Losail circuit on the weekend of March 2nd. The Le Mans 24 Hours will take place over the weekend of 15th-16th June.

I wasn’t thrilled about the yellow on the F1 car, but this livery looks great!

Would be great to see Rossi and Hamilton at Le Mans one day, in the same car.

The red and yellow are perfectly fine for a Ferrari. Both cars are striking. Fantastic !

Horrible, too much yellow. Ferrari continues to cheapen their identity.
