I’m so grateful there was no one immediately behind George when he crashed, he was beached in the middle track and completely vulnerable if someone nearby didn’t have time to react.

He was crashing for a while. If anyone was close, they would have had plenty of time to react before he was on his side.

What is happening at Mercedes? Hamilton DNF with engine failure, as Russell crashes out on the last lap giving up valuable points fighting for sixth…. George crashing under pressure, where have we seen that before?

One quick point. Hamilton’s engine failure would suggest that engine as always had an issue, eg practice and qualifying, and it was only a matter of time before it failed.

Unlikely.
If the PU had a serious, performance limiting, issue during FP/quali then the team would’ve identified the issue and replaced the PU.

So quick and naïve to judge.
Let’s wait and see the results from the stewards to see if there was anything to the incident first…
