Caroline,
Brilliant, again thanks for the information. Will do some last minute reading before we fly out.
Hope everyone has a fabulous F1 in Abu Dhabi, enjoy and see you there!

Any recommendation for food around the city and in the circuit? I gather the food will perhaps to be better in the mall next to Ferrari world compared to the food around circuit grounds?
Had a quick search and came across this website which has a guide to the Abu Dhabi F1 race.

I’ve installed the Yas Hub App, had to update it via App Store and it appears very up to date with the release of the program for 4 days. Very good and handy when we’re there on site. Anyone used this app last year, i assume that everything is downloaded to the phone and hence data is not required when where out and about?
One further question: I’m seated in the south grandstand? Anyone know how long it would take to walk from the South Grandstand to the Concert? I’m assuming shuttle buses will be very busy and they only operate at 15 mins interval.
22nd September 2015, 2:54 at 2:54 am #305687TomParticipantHi, received a package via courier service yesterday. I wasn’t expecting anything but when i opened up the package it revealed the AD F1 passes. It was a nice surprise. Has anyone else received their’s as from what I’ve read and been told the passes are usually sent out a few weeks prior to the race? In the package is a folder and within it are the 4 day passes with neck straps, parking permits and a leaflet about unconfirmed concerts. No program about the race weekend was included. I only assume they’ll send that out later perhaps once they’ve confirmed everything?

Thanks for all the info, it was very valuable. Finally booked South Upper Grandstand 7, Row G, lower numbered seating. Really looking forward to it. It’s going to be awesome.
Hi Laura, i was too considering the North, when i called to book the sales team told me North section 6 is all booked except for row A and B. From previous forums it is not suggested as the rails are big and thick which will be obstructing your view.

4th May 2015, 3:58 at 3:58 am #297642TomParticipantHi, a further questions. Suppose I buy a 3 day pass at the south grandstand and given that practice sessions have low attendence; is it possible to venture off to another grandstand for the practice sessions?

Completely agree, forums and like minded people such as yourself really helps the process and experience in booking and attending a race. I attended my first F1 race last year in Singapore and it was this web forum that made all the difference.
How long are we expected to queue for the autograph session? From what I gather it appears when the gates are open one would have to first queue for the autographs before doing the pit lane walk?
Unfortunately won’t be staying at Yas, a bit too pricey and looking into booking in the city. Despite reading around transportation to leave the circuit after the race/concerts bothers me a little; i read queues can be 2 hours long, is it really that bad? Perhaps it would be better to source a private taxi and pay the driver more? Perhaps Uber?!
Thanks,

Again thanks for the insight, already helping loads. I understand the drivers autograph session in on Thursday too, is this open to the public or perhaps for selected guests? What time is the autograph session? Thanks again.Tom
16th April 2015, 10:06 at 10:06 am #296773TomParticipantHi Caroline,
Thanks for your valuable insight. I might have to give the south grandstand a try with all the raving reviews. Initially i liked S02-04 of the north grandstand which looked like a good place for close up photo’s of the cars using a tele lens. Would you or anyone have any experience in taking close up photos of cars at the south upper grandstand?
Considering buying the 3 day pass with the pit lane walk. Is the pit lane walk for the whole day or specific times during the day?
Cheers!

I’m a bit confused with your comment above, so its better to be in block 6 or 7 than being nearer the corner for a more open view?
Thanks!

13th April 2015, 7:37 at 7:37 am #296607TomParticipantGreat info here guy’s. Looking to buy tickets soon. Would be interesting to mix things up a bit and to swap Fri/Sat tickets with other people here so to get a variety. We’re a party of 3-4 so will ask again later.
10th April 2015, 10:51 at 10:51 am #296294TomParticipantAD early bird ticket sales has started. However there’s no indication when the offer is until, does anyone know the answer? I’m thinking Northern Grandstand to see car dynamics put through it’s pace through chicane, hairpin and accelerating out, any thoughts and experience?
12th September 2014, 3:47 at 3:47 am #274393TomParticipantAppreciate the info and advise @Mankster. Immediately after the race is it possible for us to get access from T2 grandstand onto the race track to witness the podium ceremony?
Are there any photographers on this forum? I have a 300mm lens attached to my Canon 5D, will this be sufficient to get close up shots from T2? Are monopod’s allowed as I have seen other people’s photos carrying a monopod around?
Only a week to go, really excited to attend my first F1 race weekend, been a fan and follower of F1 since the early 90’s!
11th September 2014, 10:36 at 10:36 am #274316TomParticipantMy wife and I have tickets for turn 2 A4. Wanted to get A2 but was a bit slow buying tickets in April and only single seats were only available. The T2 A4 seats we have are seats 1 and 2 which i hope is enough to see down the straights – very excited!
Going to have a wonder during practice sessions to explore the track, where’s the best spot for taking photo’s of the F1 cars around the track?
I also noticed this year our tickets won’t have access to the Singapore Flyer, but instead they’ll give 10% discount from the regular price to those who wish to ride the observation wheel – that’s a bit of a shame.
Final question – I know the concerts will be popular but if i waited until after the race to go see the concert in zone 4 will i be able to get into the park to watch anything? - AuthorPosts
