20th March 2012, 21:15 at 9:15 pm #196588Andy2286ParticipantWe have to think about this from a less-personal point of view, for F1 to ever return to the BBC, we need to have as many people watching that as opposed to SKY. Granted as a whole we’ll make very little difference, if any… But if everyone thought this way?
Therefore I’m going to watch all live races on the BBC, unless the BBC are doing highlights in which case SKY is a necessary evil.Or am I just in dream land?

Then again, haven’t we been saying this for a while?

I actually preferred Coulthard to Croft. Croft just seems a little too excitable, and I noticed several occasions where he mis-called the action. I can understand that in the heat of the moment, it’s easy to make mistakes, but I noticed very few of them last year, and Coulthard seemed to have a greater rapport with Brundle than Croft does.
In hindsight I think You’re right, Croft is a little over the top, and Coulthard and Brundle were a better mix
18th March 2012, 9:08 at 9:08 am #196095Andy2286ParticipantI’m still not sold on the sky coverage, Im finding Simon Lazenby quite irritating, but then again I thought the same of Jake Humphrey when the BBC first gain coverage and he soon grew on me.
Damon Hill, I just find him incrediby boring and he just doesn’t seem to add any in depth analysis.
Anthony Davidson seem’s to show potential, despite his still relatively small role.On the other hand, I’m pleased that Ted Kravitz seems to have a slightly bigger role then with the BBC and would like to see more of him in the coming races. The commentary line up on Croft and Brundle is absolutely superb and I cannot fault it.
All sky need is to improve their coverage is replace Simon with Jake, Damon Hill with Coulthard and bring in Eddie to add to the mix (Probably not the safest opinion to express on the forum, but I always rather liked him)
Better still… Bring it back to the BBC.edit. Final Note, Post race coverage was crap… Not sure if I can get away with using the S word

A schumi car window sticker… I’ll probably have to wait till I buy a Skoda Fabia in a year or so time… my current peugeot just doesnt feel worthy of such a sticker.
14th December 2010, 17:26 at 5:26 pm #151404Andy2286ParticipantPersonally, I regard the month’s between the end of the last season and the beginning of the next as the dark months. For me, winter only begins after the last race of the season, and end’s the weekend of the season opener.
and on the subject of a winter sleep, if only it was possible…
27th November 2010, 0:20 at 12:20 am #151391Andy2286ParticipantWhen you feel the need to warm the tyres on your car, or in my case, motorcycle.
Or best yet, when you’re making love to your girlfriend and ask her if we can continue this later because the race is about to start… (should I be worried by the this one?)
26th November 2010, 23:58 at 11:58 pm #136212Andy2286ParticipantI actually sent an e-mail to the BBC about this very topic, urging them to listen to the fans and generally making it clear that it’s not only me complaining about him, but that it seems to be a common thing uniting various f1 fans.
Also ended it with a personal plea to fire him.
Unsurprisingly, nobody responded…
