Sky are just showing the pre-podium conference now, and look how thrilled both Hamilton and Rosberg are! Such a different mood from Malaysia last year! I don’t care what Paddy Lowe may or may not have thought but THIS is why we need to let these racers race!

JESUS!!! This race is everyone complaining about F1. Front, middle, back, left, right, up, down.. everywhere there was a fight. Beautiful heart pumping stuff.

What a race. Battle between Mercedes was great, Ricciardo was simply brilliant, Perez made it when it matters while Hulk failed. Ferrari, Mclaren were very disappointing. Red Bull is struggling to chase Mercedes but not enough yet.

even though there were full of fights, still it’s usually between team mates rather than different teams. it tells the pecking order. We need more mixed performance…

while Hulk failed. – ridiculous comment. You should watch the race again. Hulk finished behind because: a) Williams driver pushed Nico outside the track when Nico was in front of Perez and b) after safety car came in Hulk only helped his team mate to save podium. Nico tried to overtake Sergio then pushed the field back to help the team. Same, as Alonso did for Massa in 2010 in Australia.

@slava I know Hulk is brilliant and he did well. but circumstance is not negligible when it come to build career. I’d rather say he needs more LUCK perhaps.

Great Racing by Everybody! Except Maldonado, Of course! He just never seems to learn his lesson. That was a scary crash with Gutierrez. This was probably the most exciting race since Brazil 2012. But honestly, it was a bit too confusing. One 2 min ad-break and I was confused with the positions and the gaps every time.

Wowowowowow!!!! What a race!! I thought the Hamilton team strategy was done and dusted when the safety car came on track, but ol’ Lewis would not have any of it. Great racing throughout the field, best race of the season by far, Mercedes is so far ahead of the pack it’s pretty stunning to watch. I still hate the sound of the engines, but it’s hard to complain too much with the quality of what we’re seeing on track thus far.

Hamilton was superb. Nico did well, but it did feel somewhat disappointing. Same for Vettel and Hulkenberg (though Hulk did a great comeback, even if beaten by Perez after the SC).
Excellent race all around.

Maldonado should be listed as DSQ in my view. Utterly idiotic!

Yeah, this F1 in 2014 really sucks. Oh, wait…
Another disappointing race for Williams. Ferrari were poor. Ricciardo excellent again. Mercedes pair brilliant.

Wiiliams didn’t manage their race well today. They could have finished Well ahead of the Redbulls, but they are afraid to hurt their drivers. They need to educate both drivers on what happens when a slightly slower driver is ahead and slowing down the other and making cars behind catch up.
Vettel was asked to move out and he complied, Massa’s psychological fragility has put Williams in a bind such that they can’t now ask Bottas to move over as Massa failed to do so last race.

People can say what they want about the Bahrain circuit, but this was one of the best races in a long, long time.

@kingshark I thought it was good track since its inception, and it’s getting better on night. Since 2012 the racing quality is very good there.

Great race – fair fights, gripping finale for top 10. Everyone at home glued to the screens and willing their pilots on. Best race in a long long time. Thrilled for Checo – what a drive ! Likewise from Riccardo

Best race since Brazil 2012, without question.

Best dry race since god knows when – USA 2012 wasn’t as good as this.

Abu Dhabi 2012? Canada 2010?
Max Jacobson (@vettel1)

I wouldn’t say Abu Dhabi 2012 was as good, though it was close. China 2011 was close too.

Was it just me or did Alonso punch the air when he crossed the line? Probably couldn’t give the middle finger…
Eggry (@eggry)
6th April 2014, 18:16
well at least he won against the only one he could really challenge now.

He did, Brundle mentioned it on commentary.

Lol. I wish Alonso would punch someone in that Ferrari garage.
It’s depressing seeing two top dogs like Kimi and Fernando driving that red garbage bin

Indeed. The Ferraris looked miserable all through the race.

Probably the only downside of this race is that the Mercedes are completely unbeatable. I mean, more than 20 seconds in 10 laps, way more dominant than the Red Bull ever was.
Oana Cambrea (@cutteroz)
6th April 2014, 18:36
I’m not sure about Red Bull. As far as I can remember Vettel didn’t really have anybody to challenge him at the top, so I’m thinking maybe we didn’t get to see how powerful the car actually was. I might be wrong though.
Andre (@lheela)
6th April 2014, 18:19
Only the Red Bulls managed to beat any of the Mercedes-powered cars, and the W05 remains undefeated in a race. Scary.

Maybe it’s pure coincidence that every time Vettel has been overtaken by Daniel or been slower than him Vettel’s been on the radio complaining of a car issue just moments later…

That’s weird a 1-2 Mercedes winner…
