  1. Is Wehrlein in 7th corrected for his penalty?

If so, that’s huge for Sauber. Good luck McLaren trying to catch up that deficit!

    1. He has made enough gap to compensate for penalty. Awesome drive from him.

    2. I believe it should be 8th with the penalty, but 4 points is still very useful

Yes, it should be 8th. But it has to be said that he was lucky. He did have a good race (other than his silly mistake in the pit lane). But he was helped by 3 very competitive cars retiring. Also by his 1 stop strategy and the safety car. If Ericsson had been on the same strategy he will almost certainly have been the points. He had a good race too scrapping with Alonso and Stroll. He was stuck behind Stroll for quite some time because of the speed difference. But somehow, he got past Stroll.

        1. Was it his mistake, or how late the team called him in.

        2. Some people may describe the way he kept faster cars behind him as talent. But yeah luck works too

    3. He should be in 8th after adding 5 secs. Sainz was close to him till end. Even with that penalty awesome drive by Wherlien.

  2. Only the podium in the same lap

  3. Redbull so far behind… almost lapped 80 sec behind

Look at the gap. It explains why everyone are distant from Mercedes and Ferrari.

  5. When will Verstappen learn. Not only did he damage and end his race, but that of another driver. He needs a strong harsh penalty like a race ban. He is way too aggressive and impulsive, he doesn’t think and is not held accountable to his actions. Does he know how much these cars cost to build??!

    1. What race did you watch, mate? Yes, Max is aggressive, in general, but this was clearly a moment of hesitation from Kimi. Racing incident I would say is just right. But saying Max33 should be handed a penalty… LOL. I appreciate your passion, but judging things fairly is important.

      1. Kimi being hit by Bottas on his rear was a moment of hesitation?

Seems more like a usual 3-wide racing incident to me.

        1. Only that Verstappen was too aggresive. But he can’t AND is incapable of learning about this thing SPACE! He saw that Bottas was on the inside, so what did he expect to happen going three wide…he doesn’t have respect for other drivers clearly.

      2. Verstappen had no business trying to pass on the outside three wide in a corner. He didn’t give Kimi any space who in turn couldn’t give Bottas any space. He doesn’t think, that is my point and he seems incapable of learning so yeah a harsh penalty other than a DNF or in addition to is what he needs.

As far as Kimi being hesitant, being sandwiched will do that to you trying to not damage your and the other cars around. Verstappen actually forced Kimi into Bottas. It was a stupid racing incident that is all the fault of Verstappen.

        1. Is called racing dude… you need to watch closely, Max was giving enough room until Kim got hit and did not manage to steer right… if someone is to blame it is first button, then Kim.. not Max at all.

Guess as Ferrari fan you feel the hit of red bulls

Eh … Kimi should be punished for Bottas hitting him from behind?

          2. Redbull is way off and absolutely no threat. You call that giving space??? If his own teammate is condemning the way he drives, you should then think something is wrong with his style. He’ll be a good driver when he gets more smart in his craft.

      1. Sometimes the best penalty is sitting in the paddock waiting for everyone else to finish their race.

    2. A first lap racing incident is still a racing incident even when your hero is about to be overtaken by a 19yo :p
      @scuderia_fan85

      1. And your point being? My point is when will Verstappen learn first corners/first laps are where disasters usually happen so no point in forcing into a nonsensical situation. The race is not a sprint but a marathon. Hence wrecking your car and race and other drivers around you. Show some respect.

He is getting paid to drive, not wreck cars and cost the team more money.

        1. Too subtle?

          1. Never try irony on a true fan.

  6. Force India is that quiet team that nobody notices is doing well. They are currently in 4th with a comfortable margin over 5th place Toro Rosso. Double points in all of the races so far. They just need to keep this up for the rest of the year.

  7. You really have to wonder what Palmer is doing here. He is nowhere near Hulkenberg and I can’t imagine him being that much of an asset for Renault. Stroll at least brings in a ton of money, not that it compensates finishing behind Massa who had a compromised race.

Great results for Wehrlein and Ocon, though.

    1. Palmer’s dad does actually have quite a lot of money too. Not as much as Stroll admittedly, but still. If Alonso does go to Renault next year, they’ll be very strong with him and Hulk, that’s be one of the best line ups on the grid

    2. Palmer was just the cheapest option for 2017. Why look for better and more expensive drivers in what is still called a development year? I’m pretty sure he will the first one to be ousted before the start of the next season, once Renault starts getting point scoring results regularly.

      1. By “Renault” I meant “Hulk”.

  8. Felt sorry for MAG he was doing great until puncture – and a qualify win against GRO – must say he is coming after it…

    1. Wasn’t it Mag who got clumsy and ran into Kvyat despite being given so much room.

    2. It was his fault he just ran into Kvyat. Again silly driving costing him points.

      1. Yes – MAG fault but think his tires was finished so he couldn’t control the slide in the turn…

  9. i’m eager to see the race charts.
i have to know how Stroll (or $troll) managed to finish behind Massa who was a minute behind on lap 2.

    1. Well, at least he managed to finish…

  10. “We could’ve given each other space but unfortunately Valtteri touched Kimi and of course then Kimi couldn’t control the car and he just slammed into me” says Verstappen. Ic Bottas didn’t hit Kimi then all three would be fine or if Verstappen showed a bit more patient and sense, all three would be fine.

    1. If… If Kimi was a registered accountant he wouldn’t be a racing car driver.
