Alonso to miss qualifying after crash

Fernando Alonso will not participate in qualifying at Monaco following his crash in final practice. Ferrari will have to replace his chassis due to the damage it suffered in his crash at Massenet, 22 minutes into this morning’s session.

Kubica quickest as Alonso crashes in FP3

Robert Kubica continued to show impressive pace around the streets of Monte-Carlo, setting the fastest time in the last practice session before qualifying. But Fernando Alonso’s run of fastest times in practice came to an end when he crashed at Massenet on his sixth lap.

Monaco has the longest unbroken run of years as a Grand Prix venue – having held an F1 race every year since 1955. Much of the track remains the same, but there have been changes in recent years – some of which were criticised for diminishing the challenge of this unique venue.
