      I bet 100 quid on Bianchi. 5000/1; seems a silly bet, but if Ferrari is suddenly missing a driver after the 2nd or 3rd race, and seeks for replacement, my bet doesn’t seem as bad anymore.

         If he then changed teams mid-season, would both tallies be added together in the drivers’ championship?

   I’m guessing the majority of people who have voted before me are Raikkonen fans. As much as I admire the guys skills, I would in no way consider him, or Ferrari favourite for the titles.

      Most polls that have Raikkonen as an option will inevitably be a bit skewed, because he has SO many fans, and they all vote for him because they’re voting for what they want to happen, rather than a realistic, unbiased vote.

      I mean, just as a small example, the Codemasters F1 Facebook page ran a poll to see who the fans thought the best driver victory was in 2013, and Kimi’s win at Australia won in a landslide. It was a good win, but not the best of the year. Alonso’s in China, Hamilton in Hungary, Rosberg in Monaco, and Vettel in Germany were all better IMO.

   I don’t think you can underestimate the Ron Dennis effect at McLaren, like him or loath him he is a highly driven individual. I tip McLaren and JB for this season. I also predict fireworks at Ferrari, frustration at Red Bull, suprises from Force India, disaster at Lotus and both back markers to score more than a point.

       I too picked Fernando for the WDC. I doubt Ferrari will get the constructors though. Logically, you would pick one of the Merc drivers for the WDC, Im inclinded towards Nico. We expect Merc to be at the front…however, it could well be that Nico and Lewis will be tripping each other up,as they both will be fighting for wins…thats where Fernando is most dangerous..as he has shown time and again over the past couple years…when doesnt have the fastest car…he always makes the most of his oppotunities…ask he said “I am always there”.

       This season is hardly a foregone conclusion…Im not even betting against a Red Bull revival mid season..I wont be surprised at all if Vettel takes his 5th title.

       At least 15-12, I don’t expect a masacre.
       2. Who will win the FIA’s new pole positions trophy?
       Difficult to know, there 4 teams that recorded fastest times more that once in the preseason tests. But the most reliable must be Mercedes or Williams.
       3. Where will Sebastian Vettel finish in the championship?
       Another unknown question, depending on how Vettel does in the first 4 four races and then in the next races with a upgraded Red Bull, that will show position in the season, but as Adrian Newey is a genius, I expect he will be between 7-3 in the WDC.
       4. How many races will Kimi Raikkonen win? 2 or 3, depending ln how reliable and fast is his Ferrari.
       5. Who will score more points: Valtteri Bottas or Kevin Magnussen? I expect Bottas, his Williams is a little better than the McLaren, but that doesn’t mean that Magnussen won’t score many points.
       6. How many pole positions will Ferrari score? 0. Mercedes will fastest.
       7. How many races will Williams win? 3-5. They are in that battle this season.
       8. What will Daniel Ricciardo’s best result be? 5th at the most.
       9. What will be the top speed recorded in the speed trap at Monza (in kph)? Rosberg predicted 360+ kph. If that’s true, it will be the fastest speed trap recorded at Monza since the V10 era. (Most like 2004-2005)
       10. Who will be the first driver to be replaced or substituted for a race? Chilton or… Maldonado
       11. And who will take their place? An unknown driver.
       12. Which driver will collect the most penalty points for driving infringements? Grosjean no, Maldonado at the most.
       13. Who will win the Monaco Grand Prix? That will be a massacre. A war field (I’m not referring to the “overtakes”) We may have an ‘underdog’ win. ¿From who? Unknown

          Not anymore. As most of the races will be fuel limited, the efficiency of the engine will play a much greater part in the race; whereas in qualifying, the fastest car at maximum fuel flow will be on pole.

     Been looking forward to this since the last one!

     1. I’d like to think a decent amount can make it, but there could be carnage and reliability problems galore. There should be at least 10, but no more than 16 – so I’ll go with 13.
     2. Probably Lewis Hamilton, but if Williams have a decent qualifier then Massa can upset this one
     3. You’d like to think someone else can win the title… maybe 5th if he doesn’t dominate the second half of 2014 and win because of double points!
     4. Could be lucky to get more than 2 if some of the other cars are really far ahead
     5. Valtteri Bottas unless the Williams isn’t competitive enough
     6. They’ve not had a pole since 2012 (in the wet), but with Red Bull out of the way maybe 5 if they get the job done.
     7. I’d like to see at least 3, with both drivers doing the business. This depends how good the car is.
     8. If reliability allows, he could sneak into 2nd, but if he’s on the podium expect Vettel ahead.
     9. This could get close to the 370 km/h mark set by Pizzonia in 2004 – possibly 368 but I don’t know!
     10. Out of the more experienced gang, you’d guess Pastor Maldonado – but if not, maybe JEV if Toro Rosso drop him like Bourdais in 2009
     11. Case 1: Charles Pic, unless they’re fighting for the title; case 2: anyone’s guess!
     12. Could be Pastor Maldonado, but if Lewis and / or Felipe have a 2011-style season who knows?
     13. Possibly Nico Rosberg again, but if not I’d like to see a Williams win.
     14. If Maldonado is finally tamed, then I’d say Gutierrez is under pressure but otherwise I’d say the Venezuelan’s got this one covered again.
     15. This could be more a case of who retires the most than in previous years – possibly Caterham or Toro Rosso but otherwise no idea!
     16. Brazil (if double points is removed) or Abu Dhabi (almost a no brainer in the double points case).
     17. A loophole in the Power Unit / aero regulations that hasn’t already been found, or the will they / won’t they of the Russian GP.
     18. I’d like to think the European races can be more exciting this year – I’d put Canada, Australia, GB and Brazil up there.
     19. Unless RBR sort themselves out, they’ve had it. Mercedes look strong but could have occasional reliability issues allowing another Merc / Ferrari team through.
     20. Again depends if RBR can turn it around. After all the hype and pressure on Lewis, he could crumble and let Nico Rosberg or another new name on the trophy.

     Although pre season testing seems to suggest Red Bull are in trouble, I think the car itself is quick and when they sort they problems out they will come back strongly and Vettel may will another title, after the last few seasons I just don’t think I can write Red Bull and Vettel off yet.

     Whoever does win the Championships I have a bad feeling that the they will be decided because of the double points at the last race.
